'Overall we have noticed there is definitely an increase in business break-ins and robberies in the entire Rand West area' – EPR West Rand.

EPR West Rand has released its crime report for the period from Friday, 3 July to Monday, 6 July.

According to Johan Krogh, General Manager at EPR, their client base revealed at least five armed robberies in the Rand West City area.

In addition, Krogh said, there was one attempted business break-in and shoplifting reported in Westonaria as well as two incidents of trespassing in Zuurbekom and Greenhills respectively.

As far as Randfontein is concerned, Krogh said, several other incidents were reported that included medical emergencies, an inquest case, damage to property, robbery and theft.

“Overall we have noticed there is definitely an increase in business break-ins and robberies in the entire Rand West area. We urge business owners to remain vigilant at all times. Ensure that your alarm system is activated, even if you leave your home for a very short period of time,” he warned.
