Increase in burglaries – Mapogo crime report

'Increase in burglaries at both residential and business premises during daytime a concern' – operations manager at Mapogo.

Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in Randfontein released its latest crime report for the period from Thursday, 2 July to Sunday, 5 July.

According to Herman Coetzee, operations manager at Mapogo, a crime report for their client base revealed there were several crime incidents across Rand West City during this period, with an increase of burglaries at both residential and business premises during daytime a concern.

Many people have returned to work after the lockdown has been eased, and an increase in burglaries during daytime is of concern,” he said.

Their report revealed a further three incidents of business break-ins across Rand West City – two in Westonaria and one in Randfontein. In addition, another two crime incidents were reported in Randfontein – one of common theft and another of armed robbery.

Coetzee again warned all home and business owners.

“Please ensure that your alarm systems are in a working condition and armed when you leave for work.”
