At least 180 dignity packs were donated to boy learners of Hartztraat Primary School in Toekomsrus on Friday, 13 November.
This was in commemoration of Movember, a yearly event which involves men growing moustaches during November to raise awareness about men’s health issues.

But according to Tshita Mashige of the Rand West City Traffic Department and coordinator of the donation, in this case, the donation was aimed at helping the boys to practice good hygiene and groom themselves properly, using items in the dignity packs.
Mashige said the packs contained basic toiletries including a toothbrush, toothpaste, roll-on, soap, face cloth, lotion and tissues.

“This was a Men’s Month project because we felt that there was a void and that boys were getting neglected, so we have handed them the packs because we wanted them to remember their role in society,” Mashige said.
