Artist thanks the Herald for putting him on the music map

Two years ago, the Herald met Jabulani Sylvester Mokotedi aka Jaybeats (aged 24 at the time), who said he was singing for those who were hurt and grappling with the hardships of life.
We recently caught up with Jabulani who said he once dreamt of growing as an artist and now thanks the Herald who helped put his name on the map.
“Since my article was published, I’ve been places. It can change people’s lives; it changed mine,” he said.
Jabulani said initially, people didn’t take his music seriously and it was hard for him to get recognition, but after the Herald article he had been receiving phone calls from many radio stations, and even had the opportunity to work and perform with big names in the music industry.
“I am now working with 47 aspiring professional artists. Together we share skills so we can be the best we could be in the music industry. This, however, wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for you, the Herald. Many thanks to you,” Jabulani concluded.
