New NPO for the needy launched in Simunye
'Those who want to give a helping hand, help achieve our mission can join us' – Ezamtshali, new socioeconomic NPO in Simunye.
Ezamtshali, a new socioeconomic non-profit organisation (NPO), was launched in Simunye, Extension 2 on Heritage Day (Friday September 24).
Founder of the NPO Thumeka Madolwana said their main purpose was to eradicate poverty, take care of the needy and help senior citizens, especially those living with chronic diseases.
“This will be done by assisting people through our soup kitchens and by donating food parcels,” she said.
As the day of the launch coincided with National Heritage Day, they were able to teach young girls about their African roots.
“We also taught them about who they are so that they can embrace and preserve their cultures. We had young girls proudly clad in their traditional regalia, and we celebrated everyone and the culture they represented because those cultures are on the South African flag. We want the people of South Africa to unite in love and harmony while our organisation looks after them,” she said.
Thumeka said they were not only celebrating different cultures; they believe it is important for people to know about each one and how they differ. They also want to make a difference in the community.
