Another artist thanks the Herald for spreading her musical wings
'I truly want to thank the Herald for opening doors for me' – gospel artist thanks her local newspaper.
A local gospel artist, Keimametse Innocentia Mabaso, aka KIM of Kocksoord, has thanked the Herald, her local newspaper, for giving her the boost she needed to spread her musical wings and taking her career to great heights.
The 36-year-old who featured in the Herald early last year said after the story was published, her life changed drastically, so much so she even had to quit her day job. She has since been given an opportunity to work with three mainstream artists.
“I got the pleasure and privilege of working with Sipho Ngwenya on a single titled Khomela in August this year,” Kim said.
She is currently working on releasing an entire album.
“I also had the pleasure of working with Tsonga Prince and Henny C. I really appreciate the platform the newspaper gave me by putting my name and talent out there!”

Kim said although she sings gospel music, she can switch to other genres including Jazz an Pop to cater for her audiences.
Speaking about her plans for the future, Kim said she would like to give back to the community by grooming aspiring artists and helping them record their demos and extended play records (EPs).
“My long-term goal is to build a recording studio and have kids come in for recordings. Our kids are all over the place, especially those who are not into sport or fortunate to be able to visit entertainment venues.
“I truly want to thank the Herald for opening doors for me, because no door is too small. Had I not had the interview, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Thank you very much, the Herald for lifting me up,” Kim said.
The Herald would like to wish Keimametse the very best in her music career going forward. We are rooting for you! — Ed.
