Regarding last week’s community meeting, the ward councillor did a very good job arranging a meeting held on August 19 at 18:00 between the mayor of Randfontein, the municipality’s executive team and taxpayers from Wards 6 to 9.
Taxpayers are unhappy with the lack of service delivery and the ongoing water outages, but they conducted themselves very professionally. Thank you to everyone involved.
The discussions were informative for all who attended, and the hall was full. According to the mayor, funding has been granted for development. Unfortunately, no figures were provided. We need to know: Can we trust that this money will be used for the planned development, which is expected to be completed by December 14?

We do not believe it is possible to build and complete a new reservoir capable of holding the required volume of water in just four months. We simply do not see how such a large reservoir can be constructed within that timeframe.
Can it really be guaranteed to last a lifetime if it is built in only four months?
