Councillor Alwyn van Tonder revealed electricity has been restored in the Randpoort, Homelake and Randgate areas.
Van Tonder mentioned these areas are supplied with electricity by the Market Street substation.

“Electricity has been restored in these areas. We were lucky that the lightning only damaged one cable termination and that it could be repaired relatively quickly,” Van Tonder expressed.
Further, he noted as per the official notice that the storm caused a large number of problems on the network especially in the plot areas where there are overhead lines. He concluded by saying that it would take time for the electrical team to repair all faults.
