Dogs poisoned, 11 sheep stolen in Randridge

They poisoned the owner's dogs, stole 11 sheep and fled the scene – Mapogo.

It was a relatively busy week for Mapogo A Mathamaga Security’s client base in Randfontein.

Operations manager at Mapogo, Ben Willemse said six incidents were reported for the period between Monday, July 25 and Sunday, July 31.

A breakdown of the incidents:

• Monday, July 25 at 07:06 – Stock theft on De Villiers Street, Randridge AH: Mapogo officers established that perpetrators damaged the fence wires during the night to gain access onto the premises. They poisoned the owner’s dogs, stole 11 sheep and fled the scene.

• Tuesday, July 26 at 04:25 – Attempted theft of a motor vehicle on Petrel Street, Helikon Park: Perpetrators forced open the lock on the side gate, and when they attempted to steal the owner’s vehicle he heard the noises and gave the alarm. The perpetrators fled the scene.

• Friday, July 29 at 05:05 – Robbery on Market Street, Middelvlei: Perpetrators entered the premises by climbing over the perimeter wall. When the owner arrived they robbed him of his vehicle keys and gate remotes, and fled the scene.

• Friday, July 29 at 16:28 – Housebreaking and theft on Granaat Avenue, Greenhills: Perpetrator climbed over the front wall, broke a window, stole clothes from the house and fled the scene.

• Sunday, July 31 at 00:06 – Housebreaking and theft on Davis Street, Randridge: Perpetrator entered the premises through the main gate, broke a window to gain entry into the house, took unknown items and fled the scene.

• Sunday, July 31 at 07:59 – Armed robbery on Village Street, Randfontein CBD: While opening the shop, the owner was confronted by three armed perpetrators and forced into the shop where they took cash and cell phones, and fled the scene.
