1 club, 137 players and a dream to reach the top
Former player Kebapetse Morapedi is building a structured pathway to keep youth off the streets and nurture future stars.
For Kebapetse ‘Bashin’ Morapedi, soccer has become far more than just a game. As a former player and co-founder of Randfontein Manchester United FC, he is actively creating opportunities for the next generation of footballers.
The club was established with a clear mission: To keep young people off the streets while nurturing their football talent.
“Our goal is to take young boys off the street,” explained Morapedi. “The main purpose is to grow their talent.”
Randfontein Manchester United FC currently boasts 137 players across six divisions, including U11, U13, U15, U17, senior, and women’s teams.
The 21-player women’s squad competes in the regional league, while the senior side consists of 26 players.
Looking ahead, Morapedi aims to see the senior team promoted to the regional league and wants the U11, U13, U15, and U17 squads to enter the prestigious Gauteng Development League next year.
As the club continues to expand, Morapedi’s overarching vision remains clear: to build a structured pathway for young athletes to develop their skills and reach the highest levels of the sport.
