Night patrols uncover spike in criminal activity across Greenhills and surrounds

Several criminal incidents, including vehicle theft and cable vandalism, were reported during recent CPF night patrols in Greenhills, Homelake and Randgate.

A spate of criminal incidents was uncovered during recent Community Policing Forum (CPF) night patrols across Greenhills, Homelake and Randgate, highlighting ongoing safety concerns in the area.

CPF chairperson Ruan Sheppard reported that a white Nissan 1400 bakkie, registration LB 63 DW GP, was stolen from a residence in Tier Street, Greenhills, during the night of January 21.

In a separate incident, electrical cables were cut along Ivan Road, Homelake, at about 02:00 on January 22. Sheppard confirmed that Mapogo a Mathamaga, responded to the scene twice, but the perpetrators managed to evade arrest.

Criminal activity was also reported in Randgate, where suspects were seen entering a property in Bailey Street at approximately 03:40. They fled the area shortly afterwards.

Sheppard expressed his gratitude to the security company for their dedication, as well as to CPF patrollers who continue to monitor the community’s streets.
