Certain Rand West City areas hit by power outage

Certain areas in town, specifically Homelake and Uitvalfontein, are currently experiencing power outages.

According to municipal spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa, this is due to an earth fault that caused an Eskom overhead line to trip.

Montshiwa claimed that the municipality has completed a drive along the entire Eskom line route from Lenmed Hospital to the Westgate Eskom substation. Throughout their drive, they were unable to detect a visible fault on the overhead line.

“The team and Eskom technicians are doing everything possible to restore electricity to the affected areas,” Montshiwa said.
