RWCLM confirms drinking water is safe to consume

The municipality has proved a notice regarding the potential of water contamination as false.

The Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) has addressed rumours regarding the potential contamination of drinking water.

Municipal spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa has informed that there is a notice making rounds on social media about the potential contamination of tap water, recommending its avoidance.

He further stated the municipality confirmed that its water is suitable for human consumption.

“The municipality has taken all necessary precautions to ensure that the water is free from contaminants and meets all health and safety regulations. We conduct regular and comprehensive testing of the water to monitor its quality and ensure it meets all safety standards,” Montshiwa declared.

He noted testing is conducted by certified laboratories and results demonstrate that the water provided to the community is both clean and safe to consume.

“We encourage residents to remain informed through official channels,” he concluded.
