Low reservoir levels cause a decrease in water supply
Some areas are confirmed to have decreased water pressure or complete outages due to low water supply from Rand Water.
Rand West City Local Municipality has sent out a warning that it is currently facing low water supply from Rand Water and therefore various areas are being impacted.
According to municipal spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa, the low water supply has resulted in decreased water levels.
The Greenhills, Finsbury, Badirile, Westergloor, Westonaria, Hillshaven and Waterpan reservoirs have been impacted by the shortage.
“Consequently, there is no water supply in these areas,” he said.
He further stated the situation is affecting various communities, causing low water pressure in some areas and complete water outages in others.
“To lessen the impact on our residents, we will deploy water tankers to the affected areas to provide the necessary water supply,” Montshiwa said.
