Maintenance to cause water interruptions for almost 90 hours
A decrease in water supply will commence on December 13 due to maintenance work by Rand Water.
Rand West City Local Municipality confirmed that Rand Water will be conducting essential maintenance on its infrastructure, noting that residents may experience water shortages during the maintenance period.
Municipal spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa explained that the maintenance aims to improve water availability and reliability. He further mentioned that the project will commence on December 13 and take 86 hours to complete.
He added that residents might notice a decrease in water level due to the Eikenhof pumping system operating at a limited capacity level of 20%.
“The Eikenhof system is crucial for the provision of water to the Rand West City Local Municipality. Therefore, this maintenance is necessary to facilitate long-term enhancements in water service delivery. We recommend that residents take necessary precautions, such as storing water in advance, to minimise any inconvenience that may arise during this period,” he concluded.
