Illegal outdoor advertising: Municipality issues warning
The municipality has issued a warning stating that all unauthorised advertisements within the municipal area will be removed while those responsible will face penalties.

Rand West City Local Municipality issued a stern warning to those who are erecting or putting up advertising signs illegally.
A statement issued this week stated the community is reminded that all advertising signs put up within the municipal area must have prior approval from the municipality.
“All unauthorised advertisements will be removed at the owner’s expense,” the statement said.
This reminder also comes with a warning that any advertising signs put up without permission is an illegal act and that person will face penalties.
Furthermore, the municipality advised all residents and businesses with existing, unauthorised signs should apply for approval and/ or remove the unapproved advertisement.
The statement further read starting from January 20, the municipality will begin issuing penalties for unauthorised signs. Also, any signs that do not meet the requirements will be removed at the owner’s expense.
