Budget review meeting turns into service delivery complaints gathering

Residents in Ward 33 voiced their concerns regarding poor road infrastructure and more during an IDP meeting.

Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) recently hosted one of its IDP Budget Review Meetings for the 2025/ 26 financial year, where many residents expressed their frustrations with service delivery.

Various other issues, including road infrastructure, water and electricity issues, as well as the safety of residents, were also raised.

It was led by deputy executive mayor Nontombi Molatlhegi with support from the mayoral committee members, directors and managers at the municipality, took place at Ghana Park (Ward 33) in Bekkersdal.

The other ward meetings will be held on various dates, and municipal spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa has encouraged all residents to attend.
