Rand West City Local Municipality has issued a notice of planned maintenance, which will result in water supply interruptions today, August 20.

According to municipal spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa, a contractor will be welding a leak as part of the repair work on the main water supply line from the Westonaria Reservoirs.

Montshiwa noted that the downtime will finish at 13:00. To provide relief to residents, Montshiwa stated that water tankers will be dispatched to the affected areas.

The affected areas include:
• Westonaria CBD
• Westonaria Industrial
• Westonaria Borwa
• Simunye
• Venterspos
• Lower parts of Bekkersdal Informal Settlement
