Mohlakeng power cut as mini-substation fails
A failed mini-substation has left several Mohlakeng streets and a primary school without power.
A mini-substation in Thebenare Street in Mohlakeng experienced a technical failure, resulting in power outages in certain streets.
Rand West City Local Municipality spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa stated the 315kVA mini-substation is currently not working.
He further added that, consequently, the following streets, as well as Matlapaneng Primary School, are being affected by the power outage:
• Diale
• Leshomo
• Legodi
• Mohohlo
Montshiwa noted the municipality does not currently have a spare mini-substation available, but efforts are underway to source a replacement.
