Water tankers deployed to Bekkersdal, Zuurbekom and Glenharvie

The municipality confirmed water tankers will be made available to schools, clinics and affected residents currently experiencing irregular water supply.

Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) has assured residents of Bekkersdal, Zuurbekom, and Glenharvie that water tankers will be provided to address the ongoing irregular water supply.

According to RWCLM spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa, the municipality is currently prioritising schools and clinics to ensure essential services are maintained.

The following schools have been prioritised:

• Simunye Secondary
• Kgothalang High
• Isiqalo Primary
• Maputle Primary
• Ipeleng Primary
• Seatile Primary
• Glenharvie Intermediate
• Zuurbekom Intermediate

Montshiwa assured the community that once schools, clinics, and early childhood development centres (ECDs) have received access to water, residents in the affected areas will also have access to tankers.

“The municipality appreciates the patience and co-operation of all residents as we work to restore normal water supply as soon as possible,” Montshiwa concluded.
