Water shortages deepen: Key Rand West reservoirs at 0%

Latest update shows Glenharvie and Bekkersdal reservoirs are still empty, while only Westonaria Reservoir 3 and Finsbury Reservoir hold average levels.

It has now been nearly three months since Rand Water imposed Level 2 water restrictions on the municipality.

This has resulted in 0% water levels in parts of Venterspos and Westonaria, with the Glenharvie and Bekkersdal reservoirs remaining empty, as confirmed by Rand West City Local Municipality spokesperson, Phillip Montshiwa.

Current reservoir levels are as follows:

• Westergloor reservoirs 1, 2 and 3: 40%
• Finsbury reservoir: 50%
• Westonaria reservoir 1: 30%
• Westonaria reservoir 2: 40%
• Westonaria reservoir 3: 60%
• Greenhills reservoirs 1 and 2: 20%
• Waterpan reservoir: 35%
• Hillshaven reservoir: 40%
