Day-long power cut planned for large parts of Randfontein
Randfontein residents are urged to prepare for a full day without electricity on Tuesday.
Residents should brace for a day of no electricity as Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) is planning a power outage scheduled from 08:30 to 16:00 for tomorrow, April 14.
According to RWCLM spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa, the interruption has been requested by Eskom and will take place at the Drowel Substation.

• Loumarina

• All business customers in Randgate

Montshiwa added that during this period, residents and businesses will experience a complete loss of electricity supply while work is being carried out.
“Customers who rely on electricity for essential needs, such as medical equipment, are advised to make alternative arrangements in advance.”

“Residents are also advised to treat all electrical points as live during the outage period. Any changes to the schedule due to weather conditions or technical issues will be communicated in advance through official municipal channels,” he concluded.
