Two-week response plan targets Badirile challenges
As part of its Mandela Day programme, the municipality repaired potholes, cleared illegal dumping and carried out road maintenance in Badirile, with a Rapid Response Team set to remain in the area for two weeks.
The municipality marked Mandela Day in Badirile on July 20 with a service delivery initiative aimed at addressing infrastructure and maintenance challenges in the community.
The programme focused on responding to immediate service delivery concerns, with municipal teams attending to road markings, pothole repairs, illegal dumping sites and other maintenance issues that could be resolved on site.
Mayor William Matsheke, together with Deputy Executive Mayor Nontombi Molatlhegi, council speaker Selina Moumakwe and acting municipal manager Lesedi Mere, participated in the initiative.

Matsheke said the municipality was committed to addressing challenges in Badirile and ensuring that residents receive the necessary support.
“We are here to remind you as the community of Badirile that we as the municipality care about you, and our Rapid Response Team will be here for two weeks to fix all they can fix,” he said.
The Rapid Response Team will remain in the area for two weeks, focusing on addressing outstanding service delivery issues and making visible improvements in the community.
The Mandela Day initiative forms part of the municipality’s efforts to address local service delivery challenges while maintaining engagement with communities.
