Randwest SPCA raises more funds for their furry friends
With all the expenses the SPCA has daily, every little bit can make a difference.
The Randwest SPCA held another fundraiser for their fur babies at Tambotie Mall.
On February 10 the SPCA visited the mall with a Valentine’s Day-themed stall. Volunteers as well as committee members then collected much-needed funds for the pound.
Rene van Straten, manager at the SPCA explained, “We are very short of finances so we try and find ways to raise extra money. It was a big success and every little bit helps”
She mentioned right now their biggest concern is finances as they need to pay for the maintenance of their vehicles, salaries and vet bills. They are always in need of food and blankets for the animals as well.
Any person wanting to help out the SPCA is welcome to drop off donations at their offices or Bob and Wendy’s Nursery and they also have a drop-off zone at the Local Choice Pharmacy in Randgate.
“We just want to thank every person from the public who contributed on Saturday as well as people who support us in general. Thank you very much! We wouldn’t be able to help the animals without the help of the community.
