Police engage with Mohlakeng community about challenges

The Mohlakeng police and residents of Mohlakeng had a heart-to-heart conversation about several challenges.

The cold weather and strong winds could not stop Mohlakeng police’s Colonel Joyce Tuuba from engaging with the community on several challenges.

Tuuba was accompanied by the station commander of the Carletonville Police Station, Brigadier Miranda Theron, as well as the West Rand District Social Crime and Domestic Violence co-ordinators and even Community Safety Patrollers.

Residents gather in large numbers to address concerns.

Some of the main concerns from residents included poor police visibility and feedback from detectives as well as concerns about the mobile police station.

Tuuba encouraged residents to take responsibility by following up on their cases and refrain from going to shebeens, child neglect as well as accommodating illegal foreign nationals.

Tuuba did, however, commit to work more closely with residents going forward.
