A little kindness goes a long way

Sunbake distributed thousands of loaves to show kindness to those who need it most.

In celebration of World Kindness Day, on November 13, members of Sunbake made rounds in Randfontein to hand out thousands of loaves to the needy.

According to Sunbake’s brand manager Hayley May, the initiative aimed to inspire South Africans to foster kindness by sharing bread and compassion with those in need.

“The campaign emphasises that small acts of kindness, such as sharing a loaf of bread, can have a powerful impact, bridging divides and creating a sense of community,” she expressed.

The campaign kicked off at an informal settlement where actress and model Lerato Kganyago handed out thousands of loaves. Thereafter, they headed to the Zandspruit community with internet celebrity Candice Modiselle to hand out loaves there. Boys and Girls Town received a visit from the 947 team who also helped hand out loaves.

Actor and media personality Lasizwe visited a high school in Soweto which he is extremely passionate about and handed out thousands of loaves to the learners. The last delivery was made by the founder and CEO of Gold Tripod Media, Keegan Gordon who drove around the Woodmead and Sandton areas.

“We hope that South Africans adopt this as a daily habit and not just look at acts of kindness as an annual initiative. We believe people noticed this and we hope that next time they are doing their grocery shopping, they purchase that one extra loaf to give to someone in need,” Hayley concluded.
