Joy as parents welcome New Year’s Day babies

As the world marks the beginning of a new year, some families in Randfontein celebrated 2025 with special new arrivals.

While many were out toasting the new year on January 1, Lenmed Private Hospital had a different celebration – welcoming three new babies.

Ntombikayise and her baby, Simphumelele Mabuyakhulu, with midwife Lesego Modiakgotlu.

Ntombikayise Mabuyakhulu gave birth to a girl, Siphumelele, who was born at 12:45. Ntombikayise is also the proud mother of two boys.

“I am so delighted, this is my first girl,” said Ntombikayise.

Then, Vanessa Dean gave birth to Amogelong at 11:52. According to Vanessa, he got his father’s name and this is their first boy after three girls. Vanessa expressed her excitement for the newest addition to their family.

Finally, Lesego Molefe gave birth to a baby girl at 11:00 who is yet to be named.
