SPCA appeals for support after roof theft

The RandWest SPCA is now appealing to the community for help to complete the final repairs to the roof of their Westonaria branch, which was previously stolen.

To finalise repairs to the Westonaria SPCA building after its roof was stolen, the SPCA needs just a few more donations and is appealing to the community for support.

On the night of February 17, the corrugated iron roof at the property, as well as a fridge, was stolen.

Although the incident had a major impact on the SPCA and forced the branch to temporarily close its doors, generous donations poured in, allowing most of the damage to be repaired.

Still, to finalise a few minor repairs, they need white ceiling boards and paint.

“While a full ceiling replacement is not necessary, there are several damaged sections that need to be replaced, followed by a full repaint to restore the ceiling,” stated inspector René van Straten, manager of the branch.

If you are in a position to help with materials or donations, contact the SPCA on 078 911 0538 or send an email to manager@spcarandwest.co.za.

“Thank you once again for standing with us; your support means the world to our team and the animals we serve,” Van Straten concluded.
