Gospel fans thrilled at outdoor music extravaganza

Fans of gospel music were treated to an electrifying performance by Tebogo Moloi and local acts at Mohlakeng’s first outdoor Clap n Tap Festival.

Top gospel artist Tebogo Moloi recently set Patrick Ace Ntsoengoe Stadium alight with his soul-stirring gospel music, thrilling fans of Clap n Tap Gospel with an energetic and heartfelt performance.

Even the cold evening could not deter the gospel music enthusiasts from having a good time as they were spoilt for choice with an array of acts, including Isaac and the Mighty Singers from Thembisa, Pabi Hosea from the Vaal and Inspiration from Swaneville and local acts Living Hope, Bapholoswa and Bahalaledi.

“Having an outdoor Clap n Tap Festival was the first of its kind. What excited me as an organiser was to see a youth performance from one local Mohlakeng-based choir, Joyful Worshipers, consisting of high school learners from various local high schools. For many of them, it was a new experience to entertain on such a big stage. They would normally perform at churches and halls; mostly indoors,” said organiser Thato Tlale.

He admitted, however, that poor marketing, caused by budget constraints, limited the event’s attendance.

“I would love to return to Mohlakeng – the audience’s appreciation means so much to me. I plan to speak to the organisers about coming back in December, perhaps with another major act like Lebo Sekgobela,” concluded gospel artist Tebogo Moloi.
