Future entrepreneurs take the stage at Westcol

Young entrepreneurs showcased their business skills at the recent TVET Preneurship event hosted by Westcol TVET College.

Westcol TVET College’s Westonaria Campus recently brought students and the community together for a TVET Preneurship event, giving young entrepreneurs the chance to pitch their business ideas and showcase their skills.

Held on September 18, the event featured keynote speaker Dimakatso Mookodi, with Neo Mokobonane, founder of Bontle ba Rona Beauty, encouraging students through support services provided by the National Youth Development Agency.

According to student support services officer Letlhogonolo Mokataka, three students received awards for their efforts.

“The winners for the technology awards were Mbeje Sthembiso and Katlego Makgotla, while Rachidi Boitshepo won the general business award by selling sweets,” Letlhogonolo said.

The event was made possible through the involvement of partners such as African Bank, the Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency, and the IEC. Student support services staff, including Philemon Chabane and Letlhogonolo, together with Student Representative Council chairperson Mbongoni Sebolao, also played a key role in its success.
