Carryou AGM highlights achievements and founder’s legacy

Carryou Ministry celebrated 25 years of transforming lives, honouring its founder and showcasing the lasting impact of its programmes.

Carryou Ministry recently held its annual general meeting (AGM) to celebrate 25 years of service, share its achievements and raise awareness for its cause.

Executive manager of the organisation, Treven Hendricks, explained that their AGM takes place annually in September.

He said the organisation updated its members, partners, and sponsors on last year’s achievements, presented its financial report, and highlighted the impact of its programmes on the community.

“Within these tough economic times, I can definitely say it was a great success. The community and our partners were deeply impressed with the impact we have made in Toekomsrus and Elandsvlei. We have a staff consisting of 84 people, and we feed close to 800 kids and orphans daily. We also work with HIV positive people and serve the vulnerable youth,” Treven explained.

The day also saw musical performances by the organisation’s beneficiaries. Treven noted they come to the centre to get a hot meal and partake in various activities, including art, homework and counselling.

“The celebration was outstanding. We had many of our ex-beneficiaries in attendance. Some of them were orphans that the organisation adopted and put through school and university. Today they are professionals and giving back to the organisation,” he added.

They also made use of the opportunity to honour the person who founded the organisation. Treven explained that 25 years ago, Pamela Jamison founded the NPO. Sadly, she passed away in January. They unveiled a cross in honour of her life and contributions to the community.
