Non-profit company blesses local clinics with sustainability
Nineteen clinics now have sustainable gardens after receiving a generous donation through the Mogale City Business Committee NPC.
The Mogale City Business Committee NPC (MCBC NPC) has announced the expansion of its One Clinic One Garden Initiative, which focuses on establishing gardens at needy clinics across the West Rand.
AGT Foods Africa recently donated vegetable seeds to 19 clinics to support the facilities and strengthen patient nutrition.
According to MCBC NPC chairperson Gideon Phiri, the initiative forms part of the broader One Institution One Garden Programme, in collaboration with the Department of Health, the Department of Basic Education (Gauteng West District) and the Department of Social Development.

Gideon explained that the seed packs will support the creation of sustainable food production spaces, improving access to fresh produce for patients, vulnerable households and the wider community. This, he said, will promote better nutrition, encourage healthy eating habits and equip communities with practical food-growing skills.

“AGT Foods Africa’s donation comes at a critical time as we expand the One Clinic One Garden Initiative. Their contribution strengthens our ability to support food security, improve nutrition, and cultivate sustainable, community-driven development,” Gideon said.
MCBC NPC also recently donated vegetable seeds to 19 schools across the West Rand as part of the programme.
