Families in need receive support ahead of festive season

The office of the MMC for Health and Social Development distributed food parcels across Rand West City, helping families enter the festive season with security and support.

To close out the year, the office of the MMC for Health and Social Development distributed 120 food parcels to families in need.

Cassiday Rangata-Jacobs, advisor to the MMC, explained that throughout the year, the MMC’s office worked to bring dignity, relief, and hope to residents facing daily challenges.

“This final outreach, with an increased number of parcels, ensured that more households could enter the festive season with a sense of security and support.”

On December 8, the office delivered 120 food parcels to various areas in Rand West, including Mohlakeng, Toekomsrus, Sweetvalley, Westergloor, Erfsondes, Bootha AH and Culemborg Park.

MMC councillor Una Dickson expressed gratitude to a local car dealer, who provided food parcels to the community throughout the year and emphasised that ongoing collaboration is essential to support vulnerable communities.

Cassiday added that the beneficiaries of the parcels expressed their sincere appreciation.
