Police and CPF gear up learners

Randfontein police and CPF confirm learners are ready to embrace the new school year safely and confidently.

Local police, together with the Randfontein CPF, visited schools in the area to check learners’ readiness for the new school year and to raise awareness about safety.

According to CPF chairperson Ruan Sheppard, every officer made it a point to walk through halls and visit classes at their assigned schools. This ensured learners were prepared for the year ahead while reinforcing safety measures following the festive season.

Authorities also spoke to learners about bullying and the importance of respecting personal boundaries through the ‘My Body, My Property’ campaign. They reminded students to respect teachers and follow school rules.

“We even met a young Grade R learner who wanted to quit school. His schoolbag on his back, he was ready to go home, but our patrollers – who are parents and grandparents – motivated him to attend class and enjoy learning,” Sheppard said.

He confirmed that schools in Randfontein are prepared and ready for the new academic year.

“Best of luck to the learners and students. Study hard, focus on your schoolwork, but also enjoy your youth. Be responsible and stay away from drugs, alcohol, and other harmful choices,” Sheppard concluded.
