Kocksoord residents take road safety into their own hands

A local men’s forum has stepped up to remove dangerous tree branches and improve road safety in Kocksoord.

The Kocksoord Men’s Forum took action to improve road safety by cutting tree branches that were posing a threat to motorists and pedestrians in the area.

Community member Bahenyi Mokoto explained that the group noticed branches hanging dangerously over roads in Kocksoord, forcing road users to swerve into oncoming traffic to avoid them.

“This is a voluntary effort to take care of our area and improve community safety,” said Mokoto.

He added that the forum’s aim was not to remove the trees, but to preserve them by carefully cutting only the branches obstructing the road.

“This is a community-driven initiative to clean our area and make it safer and more habitable for everyone,” he concluded.
