Business supports community with bottled water
A real estate agency surprised and delighted the Randfontein community by giving away 300 bottles of water to spread a simple yet meaningful message about the value of water.
In a simple yet thoughtful gesture, Palm Estates handed out bottles of water to the community on February 13, reminding everyone of the importance of water in daily life.
According to Ansie Fourie from Palm Estates, the initiative was a team effort by the company’s employees.
“We wanted to give something different from the usual chocolates and heart-shaped lollipops, and to highlight how precious water is, especially after the recent water challenges our community faced,” she said.

Water was distributed at several locations, including an optometrist, Avantè Primary School and Hoërskool Riebeeckrand High School, where two learners received bottles from a family member working at the real estate agency. Community members and motorists at the corner of Homestead and Northway Road were among the main recipients.

A total of 300 bottles of water were handed out, with no formal speeches, as the focus was simply on giving back to the community. Avante Primary was involved in the effort, assisting the real estate agency team with the distribution.
“People were surprised and impressed by the gesture,” said Ansie, adding that the giveaway was meant to spread a positive message and show appreciation to residents.
