Call for 1 000 men as ‘Buwa Monna’ event comes to Westonaria

The Believers Gathering NPC is calling on men and boys to attend the event, where discussions on responsible masculinity, mentorship, and community-building will take centre stage.

Westonaria will host a community gathering this Saturday, May 23, as the Believerz Gathering NPC presents the Buwa Monna (Men and Boys) event at the Westonaria Local Municipality Hall.

Starting at 10:00, the event will be held under the theme, ‘Rethinking Masculinity and Cultivating Responsible Men and Boys’, with organisers aiming to encourage meaningful conversations around manhood, responsibility, and positive societal roles.

The initiative is calling on at least 1 000 men and boys to attend, creating a platform for engagement, mentorship, and shared learning. Organisers said the gathering is intended to encourage constructive dialogue, provide guidance, promote personal growth, and strengthen community bonds.

Event organiser Joseph Swakamisa said attendees can expect discussions focused on redefining masculinity in a modern context, addressing challenges faced by men and boys, and promoting values such as accountability, leadership, and respect.

In line with the event’s identity, participants are encouraged to dress in black to create a unified visual element.

The event is free of charge and open to all community members.

Residents of Westonaria and surrounding areas are encouraged to attend and be part of an initiative aimed at building stronger, more responsible men and future leaders within the community.
