202 Youngsters enjoy Holiday Bible Club at Randfontein Baptist

More than 200 children took part in Randfontein Baptist Church's Holiday Bible Club, enjoying a week of games, worship and lessons from the Book of Jonah, culminating in a vibrant concert for their families.

Laughter, learning and lively praise filled the halls of Randfontein Baptist Church as it hosted its much-anticipated Holiday Bible Club (HBC) during the school holiday.

The annual programme attracted 202 children and teenagers for a week of fun, faith and friendship. With the support of 48 dedicated volunteers, the church provided a safe and engaging environment where young people could grow both socially and spiritually.

Each day, the club ran from 08:30 to 13:30, offering parents and caregivers some respite while their children took part in a structured programme. Activities included energetic praise and worship sessions, interactive storytelling based on the Book of Jonah, and a variety of games designed to keep participants engaged.

An important part of the initiative was ensuring that every child received a meal each day, a responsibility organisers described as both significant and rewarding.

The week concluded with a vibrant HBC concert, where families gathered to watch the children showcase what they had learned. The performances, featuring music, drama and enthusiasm, were a proud moment for the children, parents and volunteers alike.

One of the organisers, Pastor Jade Greeff, expressed her delight at the success of this year’s event.

“This year’s HBC was another great success. The concert is always the highlight, as parents are constantly amazed by what their children and our volunteers can put together in such a short time. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ministering to so many children in a way that is fun, relatable and educational. We look forward to doing it all again next year!”

The Holiday Bible Club continues to be a highlight on the church’s calendar, strengthening community ties while providing a meaningful and enjoyable experience for young people in Randfontein.
