Jannas awards evening shines a spotlight on youth talents

Hoërskool Jan Viljoen High School's recent award evenings showcased great talent in both culture and sports categories.

Hoërskool Jan Viljoen High School hosted their esteemed culture and sports evenings, celebrating each learner’s achievements throughout the year, on the evenings of October 23 and 24.

The festivities began with the Culture Award evening where the school recognised outstanding achievements by awarding scrolls, half honours and full honours to numerous learners. Two learners earned the prestigious Laureate Award.

The following night, the Sports Awards Ceremony honoured all sports teams, celebrating individual excellence with scrolls, half and full honours, and Laureate Awards.

According to school spokesperson Charl Ludick, a standout moment was the presentation of the Ambassador Jacket to Leanie Benecke, a rare honour awarded to those who have achieved three Laureate Awards.

“We are incredibly proud of each learner who participated,” Charl concluded.
