Outgoing leaders hand over the reins as a fresh executive team steps up to guide the school community for the year ahead.

Hoërskool Jan Viljoen has announced its new Executive Representative Council of Learners (RCL) for the 2026/ 27 term, with six learners stepping into leadership positions as they prepare to represent their fellow learners and contribute to school life.

Adrian Lerm has been appointed head boy and president, while Rivoningo Shivambu will serve as head girl and vice-president.

The executive team also includes Akhona Maqetuka as deputy head girl and secretary, and Onthantile Oliphant as deputy head boy and treasurer.

Kopano Hamese takes on the role of public relations officer, while Orehauhetse Tsotsotso has been appointed vice-secretary.

Incoming leaders take charge

The newly elected executive team takes over from the outgoing RCL leadership, which recently reflected on a year of growth, service and memorable experiences at the school.

Outgoing head boy Luthando Mpanjukelwa expressed confidence in the incoming leaders, describing them as a capable group ready to usher in a new chapter at Jan Viljoen. He wished the newly elected RCL and executive team success in the year ahead.

Outgoing deputy head Helena Benecke also encouraged the new leaders to approach their responsibilities with purpose and humility, reminding them that leadership is not defined by a title, but by the positive difference they make and the legacy they leave behind.

As the new executive team begins its term, the learners will have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, work with their fellow representatives and contribute to the continued growth of the Hoërskool Jan Viljoen community.
