Westonaria High’s singing birds bring home the golden trophy
Gauteng's Got Talent gave Westonaria High School's choir the prestigious golden buzzer after the Qwijo Teens delivered an unforgettable performance.
The Westonaria High School choir, Qwijo Teens, recently won first place at Gauteng’s Got Talent, bringing home the trophy.
During the third and fourth terms, the choir participated in the Clap and Tap District Competition, where they won a certificate for participation. Thereafter, they received a certificate at the Segaruna District Competition.

Their true passion and dedication came through when they competed at Gauteng’s Got Talent in the vocals category and took first place.
Choir master Rashida Pieterse explained that the choir trained exceptionally hard to reach this goal. She explained the choir was also chosen to perform for Gauteng District events, which marks a first for Westonaria High School.
“I am so proud of them. My passion for singing is huge, and I can see they share the same passion,” Rashida said.
