Trophies galore as Riebeeckrand recognises sporting stars

More than 100 learners were honoured for their outstanding achievements during Hoërskool Riebeeckrand High School’s successful sporting season.

Hoërskool Riebeeckrand High School celebrated a successful sporting season by awarding more than 100 trophies to learners who demonstrated endurance, dedication and sportsmanship on the field.

From athletics and rugby to netball and soccer, learners were recognised for their commitment, teamwork and spirit.

School spokesperson Diana Nel emphasised that while some learners received major awards, more than 100 trophies were handed out to those who made their mark throughout the season.

Outstanding achievers include:

• Hockey Player of the Year: Thakgallo Sello
• Hazandi van der Merwe Trophy – Netball Player of the Year: Leané Nolan
• Fanie van Zijl Exchange Trophy – Senior Rugby Player of the Year: Kobus Malan
• Junior Victrix Ludorum: Melinique Cronje
• Junior Victor Ludorum: Bunono Mnyatheli
• Senior Victrix Ludorum: Emma Seemela
• Senior Victor Ludorum: Jesse Bouwers
• Chess Player of the Year: De Winter Rudd
• Archery Overall Top Shooter: Siobhan Pentz
• Soccer Player of the Year: Siyabonga Ndlazi
• Most Valuable Jukskeis Player: Derika van Schalkwyk
• Best Junior Cricketer of the Year: El-C du Plooy
• Girls Cricketer of the Year: Dianey Havenga
• Best Senior Cricketer of the Year: Conrad Brandt
• Best Junior Hockey Girl: Abigail Da Silva
• Best Senior Hockey Girl: Molebogeng Rabaji
• Junior Rugby Player of the Year: Qaqambile “Speedy” Jama
• Best Sporting Achievement by a Girl in the School: Elreze Enslin
