PSG his dream team: ‘I believe’

The 15-year-old of Westergloor said by working hard and taking his talent seriously, he'll reach international stardom.

Super Tigers FC striker, Neo Shea, said he may not be a household name yet, but he believes he can reach international stardom.

The 15-year-old of Westergloor said by working hard and taking his talent seriously, he will achieve his dream.

Neo said his love of soccer was nurtured by his family and he started playing at the age of 10.

What has been a great source of inspiration and someone I look up to has to be Neymar da Silva Santos Junior, who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain F.C.,” Neo said.

He said he always marvels at Neymar’s skills on the pitch.

Neo said he has been fortunate to be surrounded by the inspiring people and added that his family has been very supportive by being sport-active.

“I also looked up to my dad who played a variety of sports. I got the idea that only the sky is the limit; all I needed was time to sharpen my skill,” Neo said.

When he joined his current club in 2019, he was empowered to work hard so that he could achieve his dream of playing for his dream team, which also happens to be Paris Saint-Germain F.C.

People ask why I wouldn’t want to play for South African clubs, but it’s not that I don’t want to, it is simply because my dream is so big that I want the rest of the world to see it. Also, the idea is to show other kids that it doesn’t matter where you come from, anyone can be on the world stage – all you need is to believe in yourself,” Neo said.

He wishes to become a motivational speaker for young and aspiring soccer players because he said not many are as fortunate as he has been to get the motivation he has had so far.

“Hard work and dedication are key. I honestly believe I was born to go big in soccer and I want to follow it through,” Neo said.
