Youngster dances her way to the top in Croatia

Omphile Mompe was on fire on the dance floor in Europe.

The town’s very own dancing star, Omphile Mompe is making all the right moves in the entertainment industry.

This after the youngster came out tops and bagged first place in her age group category at the 2023 World Dance Masters Competition in Croatia, which ran from May 13 to May 23.

Speaking to the Randfontein Herald in an interview, Omphile’s father Bernard Hlabana said his daughter has shown a great deal of passion and commitment to dancing over the years.

Omphile started dancing when she was still in daycare. She enjoyed it and has shown great commitment ever since.

“She then went on to join the Dance Hub in Randfontein three years ago and started competing in dance competitions locally where she also did well and would come out tops.

“She started with ballet but lost interest along the way and then went on to do contemporary dancing, as well as hip hop and that’s when we realised her true potential,” said Bernard, who added that he joined Omphile on the trip in Croatia and was excited about the win.
