Ismo Athletics Club and Warriors of the West Athletics Club will be the hosts of two cross-country and road running events.
Ismo Athletics Club will host the second annual Golden West 10km and 5km Race on July 5, while Warriors of the West will host the Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) Cross Country League 5 on July 12.
We are more than ready to host this event. Ismo has gone the extra mile in bringing athletics to the people while advancing in the quest for development.
“We will also host a series of events outside Gauteng, including the Fortress Running Series in far-flung areas such as Eastern Cape and Limpopo, as well as the Golden Race, which is the local event,” said Ismo club chairperson Dorah Mngwevu.
Warriors’ chairperson Lucky Thato also declared the state of readiness to host the cross-country league race.
“We expect a huge turnout in all the events on the day, as this is the second last event before the last League 6 and the CGA Championships. Our athletes have been doing well in the past leagues. One of these athletes is Azania Noah, who proved to be too much for Tyron Brooks in the boys U14 encounter last year and this time around we anticipate a good show on home soil,” said Lucky.
