Herald honoured at Mohlakeng athletics training camp

During a recent Mohlakeng Athletics Club training camp, the Randfontein Herald was honoured with a certificate of appreciation.

Mohlakeng Athletics Club recently hosted a training camp at the Patrick Ace Ntsoelengoe Stadium.

“Despite organisational and operational challenges, we can describe the event as a resounding success. The camp focused not only on athletics development and excellence but also on building the psyche and character of athletes beyond the sport,” said the club’s chairperson, Nthabiseng Nkosi.

Coaches attended the camp, alongside social worker Sydney Mabaso, with athletes coming from as far as Thokoza, Orange Farm, and Zuurbekom. Most drills were held at the stadium.

“This could not have come at a better time and helped address bad conduct and behavior. We also appreciate Phahama School of Specialisation for providing accommodation for the athletes and coaches,” Nkosi added.

Meanwhile, the Randfontein Herald was among the media houses awarded certificates of appreciation by Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA).

“It was our way of showing appreciation to our fellow media houses,” said CGA general manager Mandla Radebe.
