Randfontein Eagles weather the storm to sink Pirates in Randburg

Randfontein Rugby Club maintained their unbeaten run at the top of the log with a series of hard-fought victories over Pirates Rugby Club, as the senior teams delivered when it mattered most in Greenside.

Randfontein Rugby Club’s senior teams delivered when it mattered most this past weekend, securing a string of important victories over Pirates Rugby Club in Greenside, Randburg, to remain unbeaten at the top of the log.

The turnaround began with the third team’s dominant 33–5 victory, before the second team edged their opponents 20–19 in a thrilling encounter that went down to the wire.

The first team then capped off a successful day for the visitors with a hard-fought 19–15 triumph. Showing resilience and composure under pressure, Randfontein held firm to secure a valuable away win.

It proved a difficult outing for the junior sides, however, with the U19 team suffering a heavy 57–0 defeat and the U21s going down 40–7.

Despite the setbacks at the junior level, the senior teams ensured the club returned home with momentum firmly on their side.

With four consecutive victories under their belt, Randfontein Rugby Club remains unbeaten at the top of the log as the season continues.
