Pirates sink Randfontein U21s

Randfontein Rugby Club's U21 side suffered a heavy defeat to Pirates, but the club now turns its attention to this weekend's fixtures, including the first team's Castle Cup clash against Roodepoort.

Randfontein Rugby Club endured a tough outing on Friday, July 3, as their U21 side suffered a 49–7 defeat to Pirates U21 in their latest league clash.

Pirates took control early and maintained their dominance throughout the match. Despite showing determination, Randfontein struggled to contain the visitors’ attacking intensity, conceding multiple tries and finding it difficult to gain a foothold.

Randfontein’s only try provided a brief highlight, but Pirates remained clinical and well-organised, capitalising on their opportunities and applying constant pressure from start to finish.

The defeat is a setback for Randfontein’s U21 side, who will be looking to regroup and improve ahead of their next fixtures.

Attention now shifts to this weekend, when Randfontein Rugby Club travels to Florida to face Roodepoort Rugby Club. All five teams will be in action, setting the stage for a full day of competitive rugby.

The main attraction will be the first team’s clash for the prestigious Castle Cup, a match expected to attract strong support and deliver high-intensity action.

With fixtures across all divisions, Randfontein will be aiming to put last week’s disappointment behind them and produce a stronger performance on Saturday.
