Stay social with U3A West Rand

U3A West Rand is planning exciting events and outings for pensioners this April.

The University of the Third Age (U3A) West Rand, a group dedicated to improving the quality of life for its pensioner members, continues to create opportunities for retirees to stay active, social and engaged within the community.

The group meets every second Tuesday at the Church of the Ascension on Red Thorn Street in Rangeview, Krugersdorp where members gather to connect and enjoy a relaxed social environment.

“All retirees are welcome to join us to meet new people and enjoy a social get-together,” said Ina Potgieter from U3A West Rand.

In addition to regular meetings, U3A West Rand also hosts informative sessions, with a subject matter expert presenting on a specific topic once a month.

“We aim to not only bring people together socially, but also to provide interesting and informative talks that add value to our members’ lives,” Potgieter explained.

Looking ahead, the group has an exciting outing planned for April 22, when members will visit the Nizamiye Mosque in Midrand, followed by lunch at The Windpomp Lapa.

“This is one of the many outings we organise to keep our members active and engaged. It’s always a wonderful experience to explore new places together,” she added.

For more information, interested individuals can visit the U3A West Rand Facebook page, where all relevant details about meetings and upcoming events are available.

“We encourage anyone who is retired and looking to connect with others to join us and become part of our community,” Potgieter concluded.
