Tuks beat Centurion only barely in wrestling tournament
Tuks Wrestling has only barely managed to beat Centurion in the recent Northern Gauteng Wrestling League Championships.
There was plenty of action again at the recent annual Northern Gauteng Wrestling League Championships.
Three top local clubs, Tuks Wrestling, Centurion Wrestling and Menlo Park Wrestling competed in the A-division. These three clubs are also ranked among the top wrestling clubs in the country.
According to tradition in the province whoever wins this prestigious competition has the bragging rights as the best club in North Gauteng.
Throughout the years there has been some epic matches and this year was no difference.
The scores were eventually as follows:
- Centurion beat Menlo Park, 10-4
- Centurion beat Tuks, 8-7
- Tuks beat Menlo Park, 12-3
All the points for the day were added and the result was that Tuks (19 points) ended the tournament with one point more than Centurion (18). Menlo Park was third with 7 points.
Therefore Tuks wrestling was crowned league champions for 2016.
